Memory Cafe – Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch. Every other Thursday between 10:30 – 12:00, from the 19th May

The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch are delighted to announce a new Memory Café, generously funded by Dementia Action Alliance. This will take place every other Thursday in the Learning Space, between 10:30 – 12:00, from the 19th May.

The new Memory Café is for people living with dementia and their carers to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, take part in fun activities and access information. We will provide a safe and supportive space to discuss your own dementia diagnosis, or someone else’s and think about what it means for the future; meet and learn from other people in similar situations; keep active, make new friends and feel more confident.

If you know someone who may be interested in attending sessions, please do share the news with them. Sessions will be free and open to everyone, no pre-booking required.

We’re also looking for a small number of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the Café, including regularly attending sessions, welcoming attendees, leading short activities/games, having a chat and providing a friendly face. If you or someone you know may be interested in volunteering, please get in contact with Kerry Hunt, Education and Partnerships Producer, via kerryh@queens-theatre.co.uk.

Click here to download Wellbeing Walks 2022-2023

Our new Wellbeing Walks programme is out now! Come and join us on one of the many great walks that take place across a variety of beautiful locations.

Wellbeing Walks
is a national programme which encourages people to exercise for the benefit of their health. Walking is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Formally known as ‘Walking for Health’, our Wellbeing Walks programme began in 2003 and is run by volunteers and supported by Havering Council.
There are more than 16 venues, 20 trained Walk Leaders and our health walks take place six days a week throughout the year. Walks range from 30 minutes (suitable for complete beginners) to 90+ minutes in length and are graded from easy to hard. There are also longer walks run outside of the Wellbeing Walks programme aimed at those looking for an extra challenge.
Hard copies of our brochure, as seen below, can be collected free of charge from a Walk Leader directly when you attend a Wellbeing Walk. You can also see the full programme online by clicking here.
