Your urgent support needed – Lift the morning suspension on Freedom Pass and 60+Oyster use

Over the past two years Londoners like you have been powerful defenders of both the Freedom Pass and the 60+ Oyster Card and we are grateful for your amazing support.

We are now calling on TfL to lift the suspension on concessionary travel before 9am on weekdays.

You can help us again by sending an email to the Deputy Mayor for Transport, Seb Dance and adding your name as we call for this unfair suspension to go.

We have prepared an email you can send. Just click the button and fill in your details, personalise your message then send it directly into Seb Dance’s inbox. Please also share this email with friends, family or groups you know who will support this campaign.

Send your Message to Seb Dance

Thank you for your support.

She Stoops to Conquer – or – The Mistakes of the Night! Performed by the Guildonian-Players at the Little Theatre, Harold Wood

Fancy a trip back to eighteenth century England this June? Guildonian Players in Harold Wood present Oliver Goldsmith’s well loved comedy She Stoops to Conquer – or The Mistakes of the Night!

The hilarious goings on which took place one long night in 1778 have amused and entertained audiences ever since, with mistaken identities, intrigues and romance – and all beautifully costumed.

Tickets £9 – or treat yourself to the Wednesday night preview or Saturday Night Special at only £8.

SONGS FROM STAGE AND SCREEN
Monday 23rd May at 7.30 pm

Tickets £10
Queen’s Theatre booking no. 01708 443333 online queens-theatre.co.uk

Singer: Jill Luff

With:
Dominic Ashworth – guitar
Dorian Ford – piano
Alex Keene – bass.

There have been hundreds of songs composed for the stage and movies by the top song writers.

Many of these songs became everyday standards. Our musical evening will take you through some well known classics as well as popular songs from lesser known movies.

There are songs to suit all tastes, including Over the Rainbow from that most famous of stories The Wizard of Oz. We found some interesting facts about this song and the show which we want to share with you.

There will be well known songs which appear in some unusual films and shows, as well as unusual tales of how the song became famous. There will be some lesser known songs with intriguing stories and we celebrate a few of great stage and movie hits from Great Britain. We have also chosen a selection of song in the Latin flavour and learn how the stories unfold.

This is a journey of good music, fun and some surprises.

There will also be a donation from the proceeds to St Francis Hospice.

Memory Cafe – Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch. Every other Thursday between 10:30 – 12:00, from the 19th May

The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch are delighted to announce a new Memory Café, generously funded by Dementia Action Alliance. This will take place every other Thursday in the Learning Space, between 10:30 – 12:00, from the 19th May.

The new Memory Café is for people living with dementia and their carers to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, take part in fun activities and access information. We will provide a safe and supportive space to discuss your own dementia diagnosis, or someone else’s and think about what it means for the future; meet and learn from other people in similar situations; keep active, make new friends and feel more confident.

If you know someone who may be interested in attending sessions, please do share the news with them. Sessions will be free and open to everyone, no pre-booking required.

We’re also looking for a small number of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the Café, including regularly attending sessions, welcoming attendees, leading short activities/games, having a chat and providing a friendly face. If you or someone you know may be interested in volunteering, please get in contact with Kerry Hunt, Education and Partnerships Producer, via kerryh@queens-theatre.co.uk.
