Empowering people to take control:
Better care through personalisation and participation
26 June 2015 at the Kia Oval, London SE11 5SS
We are launching a programme that focusses on getting Londoners to take more control of their own healthcare and personalising that care around their needs.
We are looking for 36 Londoners to participate in this event that will explore how Londoners, health and care organisations, councils and voluntary groups can work together to give the people of London the power to act every day, to stay independent and live longer, healthier lives.
There will be a range of speakers and a series of workshops specifically focussing on Personal Health Budgets and myhealthlondon website. You will have the opportunity to attend two workshops during the course of the day. Full event details including the agenda are attached.
Please express your interest in attending this event by completing the questionnaire by 19 June 2015. Due to limited spaces invitations will be sent out to register for the event subject to availability.
For further information please contact Selina Frater by email s.frater@nhs.net or tel: 01138070481.
This coming July, Havering Citizens Advice Bureau’s Active Living project, in partnership with Havering Council and the Metropolitan Police will be participating in a series of roadshow events around the borough to bring attention to those “out of the blue scams”. Look out for the roadshow promotional boards around the Borough.
The aim is to create a community of informed, confident consumers able to recognise possible scams and be assertive in dealing with them. Using the slogan “Don’t be Rushed Don’t be Hushed” consumers can get advice on how to refuse to be forced into making rushed decisions by scammers and to have the confidence to speak out about their experiences and not be hushed because of a sense of shame, foolhardiness or weary acceptance.
There will also be an opportunity to speak in private to a member of the team to discuss any relevant concerns people may have. Everyone is welcome.
The Roadshow Dates and Venues are:
14th July 2015 2-4pm Nat West Bank, Romford
15th July 2015 10am-2pm Barclays Bank Hornchurch
16th July 2015 12-2pm Tesco Roneo Corner
