FREE movement based workshops!

Join us on Sat 1 Jun for fun workshops led by the Artistic Director of Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, Douglas Rintoul and Choreographer Sundeep Saini.

Workshops will take place on our Main Stage!

Workshop dates:

Sat 1 Jun | 10am – 1pm, Sat 1 Jun | 2pm – 5pm

For those who would like to attend both workshops, a sandwich lunch will be provided for you.

The workshops will be movement based, and will include testing out choreographic ideas as well as learning part of a routine and working alongside a professional creative team.

Sessions are suitable for all ages (16+) and we welcome all levels of experience (including no previous experience).

Meetings are  held   at    North  Street   Halls ,24 North Street, Hornchurch – Opposite  Iceland   RM11 1QX .  Normally on  the third  Monday  of each month (except for August and January)  at 8pm

At our 20  May  2019  Meeting, We have invited to Speak Dr  Eleanor Kennedy  BSc  PhD  MBA Research Scientist

Dr. Kennedy will give an update on the latest research in Type 1  and Type 2 Diabetes,as always her update will include important facts, and information for Diabetics, laced with her own brand of humour,her annual visit is aways looked forward to.

 Due to Cost of Hall hire we are obliged to charge  £2 per person per  Meeting.

Everyone is Welcome at  our  group .If you are a diabetes sufferer it is well worth coming to our meetings , we can provide the support you need . We have a speaker every month , on a medical subject , you can really get some good advice .

Wed 24th April Adults Workshop (to be confirmed)

• Free outdoor exercise, a taster day in partnership with the sports development team. 12pm-12.45pm, To be held in the western garden
• could be Tai Chi, Pilates, Yoga or Zumba in the park
• No booking required

Thurs 25th April, Dogs Trust Stall in the Gardens

• Dogs Trust are offering a Check, Chip & Clip event on Thurs 25th April. Bring your dog along for a FREE basic health check, microchip & nail clip! Plus, FREE resources including poo bags, ID tags and training tips #Langtonsgardens @DogsTrust

Also, in other news, work begins on our new natural playground, bog garden and outdoor learning centre for the community this month, and is due to be completed by the end of May. Funded by The Veolia Havering Riverside Maintenance Trust, Heritage Lottery Fund, and the Land of the Fanns project. We are also getting new heritage signage installed at Langtons Gardens to help people journey around the gardens and learn about our history. Safer Neighbourhood Boards (SNBs) is the means by which the Mayor of London (through the Deputy Mayor and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime) holds the Police to account for performance, giving Havering Residents a greater voice in setting policing priorities. 

SNBs sit alongside existing performance management arrangements in the Havering Community Safety Partnership, and scrutiny arrangements through Havering Council’s Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Committee.

The Job:

The SNB are seeking a Chair to direct their work ensuring this reflects the objectives set out by the London Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC).

The key responsibilities are to chair and direct quarterly meetings of the Safer Neighbourhood Board (SNB) and attend other meetings to advance the work of the Safer Neighbourhood Board as required.
