Havering U3A meets at 2:30pm, second Wednesday of the month, at St.Michael’s Church Hall, Main Road, Gidea Park.

Wed Mar 11th Lesley Hall will be telling us about “The Birds of Prey Rescue Centre”

Wed April 15th Brian Carling will be telling us about “Life in the 1930s to 50s”

Interest groups run throughout the month.

The Swinging Sixties (Saturday 25 Jan) and The History of Comics (Saturday 29 Feb), two events at Havering Museum

 

The Museum now has an online booking facility if people wish to book that way. There is an additional 80p charge for this facility. Bookings can also be made by telephoning 01708 766571 (Wed – Saturday, 11am – 4pm) or visiting the Museum, 19 High Street, Romford. In addition to providing an online booking facility the Museum now requires people to book and pay for events at the same time. There is no reservation facility now.

PETER PAN FLIES INTO ROMFORD THIS CHRISTMAS at the BROOKSIDE THEATRE

Peter Pan The Musical runs at the Brookside Theatre, Romford from Friday 13 December until Sunday 22 December.

Evening performances at 8pm Wednesday – Saturday. Matinees at 2pm on 14, 21 and 22 December.

The Slowbies Cycle Group – (Upminster) Meets most Fridays at St Laurence Church Hall (Corbets Tey Road end Entrance) at 10:00.

The Slowbies Cycle Group – (Upminster)

Meets most Fridays at St Laurence Church Hall (Corbets Tey Road end Entrance) at 10:00.

Departs for a leisurely bike ride at 10:05.

Returns at about 12:00 -12:30.

Clothing to suit the weather! NO LYCRA or other cycle clothing needed!

Any bike* welcome: electric, tandem, road, MTB, Hybrid, recumbent, tricycle, sit up and beg!

Destinations: agreed on the day, largely off road or on quiet roads; for starters: Hornchurch Country Park, Ingrebourne Hill, Rainham Hall, or towards Noak Hill, Harrow Lodge or Romford…other suggestions accepted.

This group:

  • does not have a leader!
  • has one or two experienced riders to help.
  • is supportive of each other.
  • enjoys a short cycle ride in a group.
  • will support the shyest and slowest cyclist.
  • *tries not bother about your bike; just that you will be safe.
  • will have some tools and give help with a puncture and minor breakdowns.
  • Will try to take a 20-minute-coffee-stop.

Join Pinney Talfourd for ‘Have a curry for H.A.D’ – Thursday 7th November 6pm to 9pm

Join us for a curry in aid of our charity of the year, Havering Association for People with Disabilities (H.A.D) on Thursday 7 November 2019 at Uraswamys Indian restaurant in Hornchurch.

We will be welcoming guests from 6pm with a drink followed by a delicious two course meal before you can try your luck at some dinner party games and a raffle with some fabulous prizes.

Tickets cost £25.99 per person with all profits going to H.A.D.
