BIG THE MUSICAL at the BROOKSIDE THEATRE – Tuesday 31st May to Saturday 4th June

BIG Press Pic MASTER

This half term, the Brookside Theatre proudly presents Big The Musical

Big, the heart-warming and hilarious Broadway musical based on the classic 1988 movie starring Tom Hanks, tells the story of Josh Baskin, a twelve year old boy who hates being little, until one night at the carnival the mysterious Zoltar machine grants his wish to be big. Trapped in an adult’s body and alone in New York, he innocently tries to find his way around a grown-up world where it’s all work and no play.

But whilst everyone around him tries to act their age, Josh just can’t help being himself. Maybe he can teach the real adults a thing or two…

Big is a joyous musical spectacular that will enchant audiences of all ages as it brilliantly brings to life the magic of one of the best-loved movies of all time. With a cast of 24 talented performers including a troupe of amazing young performers taking on the roles of Young Josh Baskin, Billy and friends; this show promises to be one you will remember for a long time to come.

Theatre manager and founder, Jai Sepple, who plays Josh Baskin, explains “This is a fantastic musical for anyone who has ever been a 13 year old. Whether you remember the movie or not, this is a high-energy, hilarious but touching musical not to be missed. A true feel good night out!”

This charming, family comedy features songs by David Shire and Richard Maltby with a book by John Wiedman. The show is directed and produced by the award-winning team behind other critically-acclaimed Brookside productions including Avenue Q, The Addams Family and The Woman In Black.

Big The Musical runs from Tuesday 31st May to Saturday 4th June and tickets are available online at www.brooksidetheatre.com or by calling the Brookside Theatre box office on 01708 755775

Care Quality Commission (CQC) wants to hear about your experiences of health and social care

call-for-case-studies-MH---poster

It is estimated that nearly one in four people in England suffer with conditions related to depression, anxiety and stress.

People with mental health problems may be accessing health and social care and know a lot about the quality of care. To encourage them to share their experiences of care with CQC, we will be launching a multi-channel public engagement campaign this summer.

We’re looking for case studies and would appreciate your help. We kindly ask that you share the following with your communities:

Do you get help from health professionals for feeling anxious, feeling stressed or feeling low? The Care Quality Commission (CQC) wants to hear about your experiences of health and social care for a public awareness campaign they’ll be running this summer.

Specifically, CQC are looking for men and women who are happy to be case studies for our campaign.

We will ask our case studies to take part in some or all of the following activity:

  • Speak to a member of CQC staff about your experiences of care;
  • Take part in a video where they talk about their experiences of care – whether positive of negative;
  • Speak to media about their experiences of care.

If you are happy to talk to CQC about your experiences of care, please send an email to yourstories@cqc.org.uk leaving a short description of your experience. Someone from CQC will then be in touch with you to discuss next steps.
