Mesothelioma UK has joined forces with Pinney Talfourd to launch an Essex Patient Support Group on Wednesday 13 July in Brentwood

Mesothelioma UK has joined forces with Pinney Talfourd to launch an Essex Patient Support Group on Wednesday 13 July in Brentwood. All sufferers as well as those affected by the disease such as family or professionals are invited to join this free group.

Mesothelioma is a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Knowledge of the medical effects of asbestos has accumulated slowly since the turn of the century and it is now universally agreed that the exposure of men and women to asbestos fibres can lead to three diseases such as Asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma of the pleura or peritoneum.

Mesothelioma UK is a national resource centre dedicated to providing free specialist information, support & improved care and treatment. Their work in the South East region is expanding and they will be launching an Essex Patient Support Group on Wednesday 13 July.

Stephen Green is a Partner at Pinney Talfourd specialising in personal injury. Stephen is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and a member of Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). He is also an APIL Accredited Senior Litigator. He has worked with Mesothelioma UK to provide legal advice to many sufferers and their families and was delighted to be able to help the charity launch this regional group.

Essex has been identified as having one of the highest rates of the asbestos related disease in the country. The area benefits from some of the country’s few specialists in our hospitals, yet there is currently little offered in the way of other support. This group aims to provide advice and emotional support as well as practical information to sufferers, family members and also those working with sufferers. This group is free to join and support groups are free to attend. The event will include a light lunch provided by Pinney Talfourd. Please advise at the time of booking on any dietary requirements.

Date:       Wednesday 13 July Time:       11am – 3pm Venue:     Pinney Talfourd, New North House, 78 Ongar Road, Brentwood, Essex CM15 9BB For more information and to book your free place please contact Charlotte Butler on 01708 229444.

Pinney Talfourd invites you to a Free Wills Advice Event – June 10/11

Pinney Talfourd invites you to join one of our free Wills and LPA events in June to get your personal affairs in order.

Over half of the population in the United Kingdom do not have a Will and this unfortunately can lead to difficulties upon death. Your assets may not pass to whom you want to inherit, leaving your loved ones in financial difficulties. It also can be time consuming and expensive to resolve. In order to ensure your affairs are in order you should prepare a Will.

According to research over 850,000 people in the United Kingdom have Dementia with this figure estimated to rise to 1 million in 2025. Dementia can lead to your loved one being unable to make their own decisions regarding their financial affairs. By setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney now you are able to nominate a person (your Attorney) to make decisions on your behalf in the future if you become unable to. This enables your Attorney to ensure that your affairs are looked after and minimises an already stressful period for your family.

Join one of our free events to hear a short presentation about the different types of Will and LPA, and get some free tailored advice from one of our solicitors over a coffee afterwards.

Choice of two dates:       Friday 10th June or Saturday 11th June

Time (each event):          11am – 12.30pm

Venue (each event):        Pinney Talfourd LLP Solicitors, 54 Station Road, Upminster, Essex, RM14 2TU
