MAYORAL CHARITY FUNDRAISER – WING WALKING – 8th September 2017
Dear Supporter,
I would like to warmly invite you to a Mayoral Fundraising event being held in aid of my three chosen charities. I am attempting a Wing Walking flight on 8th September 2017 and it would be marvellous if you can attend and give me encouragement to be able to get on the plane and take to the skies!
There will be sumptuous BBQ (with vegetarian options), music, entertainment, games and much more, there will be soft drinks available but please feel free to bring your own alcohol. I might need one or two myself to steady my knees after the flight!
Please see the attached poster for more information and how you can purchase a ticket and sponsor me via www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/wing-walking-havering-mayor I really hope you are able to attend and see the Mayor of Havering Fly!
Please contact Havering Volunteer Centre – volunteering@haveringvc.org.uk 01708 922214 for more information and obtaining a ticket. All cheques to be made payable to London Borough of Havering.
Warmest regards
Cllr Linda van den Hende

Children’s Charity Readathon at Pinney Talfourd – Wednesday 9th August 2017
We have decided to open our doors at our Upminster office for a fun-filled day of storytelling, dedicated to raising funds for SNAP (Special Needs and Parents). SNAP was formed in 1994 and helps Essex families with special needs and disabilities. The young people have a wide range of disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, sensory impairments, speech and language difficulties and learning disabilities.
Perfect for parents who are struggling to fill up the school holidays, we will be offering up a fantastic selection of age-appropriate animated stories throughout the course of the day; enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while your children sit down and are entertained by one of our team.
Each session lasts 30 minutes and is geared towards a specific age group – see below for timings throughout the day.
We will also be live-streaming the entire event on our Facebook page, with a dedicated area for children whose parents would prefer them not to be filmed during their chosen reading session.
All donations are gratefully received and will be given to SNAP – or if you’d like to donate online, please visit our Virgin Giving page.
