Do you or your loved ones have experience of the social care system? Have you faced barriers when accessing care? The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Dementia would like to hear from you.

As part of our political influencing efforts, Alzheimer’s Society works with a cross-party group of MPs and Peers interested in dementia.

From research funding to support during the pandemic, the APPG is vital in shaping new and existing policy and is now asking for your help to #CureTheCareSystem.

With the Government recently publishing their plans for the future of social care, the APPG have launched an urgent inquiry to understand how the social care system can support people affected by dementia to lead the lives they want, for as long as they can. This is our chance to be heard, and make sure social care delivers for those who need it most.

At Transport for All, we are calling all Dial-A-Ride users to help us shape an important campaign.

We teamed up with Age UK London, who are the leading organisation in London campaigning for change to improve the lives of older Londoners.

Age UK London’s ongoing Out and About campaign aims to tackle social isolation felt by older people and improve London’s community infrastructure. Transport is a key element of our infrastructure, which is why the next stage of the campaign will focus on door-to-door transport, specifically Dial-A-Ride.

Our joint campaign aims to celebrate Dial-A-Ride and its importance to disabled and older Londoners, especially as the future of London’s transport remains uncertain.

This is why we would like to invite you to take part in an interview to share your experiences with Dial-A-Ride.

Dear Havering Over 50s Forum,

As you may be aware, since November, we will be carrying out a consultation to help us shape our future approach for step-free Tube stations.

The consultation will be delivered using our new ‘Have your Say’ consultation platform, in addition to a range of community and stakeholder conversations.

We want the people who benefit from step-free access to tell us what features in a step-free Tube station are most important to them.

For example, is it more important that a step-free Tube station has an interchange on to another line, or, that it is next to a town centre? Is it important to focus on upgrading several local stations with manual boarding ramps and no toilets or fewer stations but with raised platforms and accessible toilets? Or even just one expensive but well-connected major station in central London?

This feedback, along with passenger data, transport modelling, third party funding opportunities, design and engineering investigations, will help us shape how we prioritise and deliver step-free stations into the future.

While we don’t currently have funding to deliver more step-free stations beyond our existing programme, this consultation will help us take action to meet London’s needs as soon as funding becomes available.

We want your views around how you use your local pharmacies’ 

Healthy Dialogues have been commissioned to conduct a large-scale survey within Havering to ascertain your views around how you use your local pharmacy. The survey will form part of the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments (PNA), a statutory requirement by the Health & Wellbeing Boards, to determine new contracts for pharmacies within your area, and how local pharmacies are currently being used.

Your say matters as the responses will help to shape the health and wellbeing needs of your area.
