Why now is the time to make sure your affairs are in order.
Join our Private Client team this autumn for one of our free seminars on the importance of having a Will and a Lasting Power of Attorney. Following the presentation, our dedicated Private Client team will be available to answer your questions.
Did you know that over half of people in the UK currently do not have a Will? This oversight can lead to unfortunate complications after one’s passing. Without a valid Will, family members may contest your wishes, causing your assets to end up in unintended hands and potentially leaving your loved ones in financial distress. Moreover, resolving such matters can be both time-consuming and costly.
Recent estimates indicate that around 944,000 people in the UK are living with dementia. This number is projected to rise to over one million by 2030. Dementia can deprive individuals of their ability to make decisions. However, a simple yet powerful document, a Lasting Power of Attorney, allows you to nominate a trusted person to make crucial financial and/or healthcare decisions on your behalf.

HAVERING OVER 50’S FORUM
AGENDA
12th NOVEMBER 2024
The public consultation of the Romford Masterplan opens today, Monday 30 September 2024.
This consultation marks a significant step in shaping the future of Romford, ensuring that the voices of residents, businesses and stakeholders are heard and incorporated into the development plans.
The Romford Masterplan was approved for consultation by Cabinet on 18 September 2024 following extensive public consultation earlier in the year.
Its key features include improved public spaces in particular the marketplace, re-naturalising the River Rom, and enhancing other green spaces.
It also includes new housing designed to meet the needs of a growing population, and supporting the delivery of infrastructure.
Residents are encouraged to attend the consultation drop-in sessions held at Romford Library, where they will have the opportunity to review the proposed plans, ask questions and provide feedback.
Councillor Graham Williamson, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration and Development, said:
“This is a pivotal moment for Romford. We are committed to creating a masterplan that reflects the aspirations and needs of our community and I urge everyone to take part and help shape the future of our town.”
Closing date is Monday 11 November, at 11:59pm and feedback from the consultation will be used to refine the masterplan before it is finalised and submitted for adoption in early 2025.
For more information about the Romford Masterplan and to submit your comments, please visit the consultation webpage.
